Research
If rain forests are to be conserved or rehabilitated, strategies must be based on a sound understanding of its complex ecology. We acknowledge that research promotion is intrinsic to the use and conservation of rain forest. A well equipped laboratory and exhibition site with library facilities is expected to draw students and other researchers who wish to engage in research and study.
A systematic survey was conducted to assess the Mahausakande regenerating tropical rainforest (MRF) in Kiriella, Sri Lanka. Approximately 900 man hours were spent in the field over a period of four months
Depending on the researchers interest, projects can focus on wet zone vegetation, restoration ecology, animal behaviour, microorganisms, carbon sequencing and taxonomic studies on flora and fauna.
We are dedicated to ensuring an accessible and welcoming environment for all researchers.
